Head, Sports and Physical Fitness Development
 
Duties and Functions:
  • Formulates and implements short and long range plans for sports development;

  • Prepare and implements the yearly calendar of activities in physical education and sports development program of the University;

  • Conduct periodic evaluation of the physical education and sports development programs/ activities of the University;

  • Provides leadership in the improvement of instruction/ activities in these particular fields of discipline that may be done through research, adoption of innovative instructional approaches and strategies as well as curriculum revision and updating;

  • Confers with the faculty of the Physical Education classes and/ or Head of Student Services regarding plans, programs and guidelines on physical education and sports development programs and activities and coordinate with those concerned in the implementation and promotion of such activities;

  • Requisitions supplies, materials, equipment and other facilities necessary for the implementation, promotion and realization of such activities;

  • Represent the Institute in meetings, conferences, seminars and workshops conducted in the field of physical education and sports development;

  • Formulate and recommend policies pertinent to athletics, including the appointment of coaches and selection of athletes, subject to the approval of the Office of the President.

  • Implement rules and regulations pertinent to athletics, sports development and incentive scheme.

  • Supervise the selection and training of athletes; keeps and maintains necessary records; ascertains the qualification of athletes; and determine the privileges and incentives for athletes following the approved guidelines subject to the approval of the University President.

  • Performs other related functions as may be assigned by the Vice President for Academic Affairs or University President.
