March 11, 2019 – Northwest Samar State University (NWSSU) has been recommended for ISO certification after successfully completing the two-day stage 2 assessment by the external auditor AJA Registrars.

The audit ran from March 7-8 simultaneously at the Main and San Jorge Campuses, covering management of learning; development of research, extension and production; and management of support services for higher and advance education.

Audit team leader Eugene Herradura announced the result during the exit meeting on the second day, noting minor findings which NWSSU needs to comply with within one month subject to awarding of 9005:2015 certification.

NWSSU president Dr. Benjamin Pecayo welcomed the result and committed to immediately submit the additional requirements to AJA.
He thanked the ISO core team, process-owners, administrators, faculty and staff for the project’s success, adding that this was a product of hard work and collaboration of the entire campus community.
