NwSSU Entry hailed as 2020 Best NSM Infographics in Samar Province
The Infographics entry of Northwest Samar State University bagged 1st place in the 31st edition of National Statistics Months’ Regional Search for Best Infographics competition, announced via Facebook post by Philippine Statistics-Samar, November 5.
Following the theme, “Bridging Digital Gaps: Making Information Available to All,” the entry of NwSSU made by the writers and creative team of The Courier student publication with the supervision of the External Affairs Office under the Research, Extension, and External Affairs Office of the University, highlights the topic of Digital Divide and offers different solutions to bridge digital gaps in the new normal.
All entries of the 2020 NSM Search for Best Infographics were judged following these criteria: Relevance to the NSM theme (30%); Layout and Design (25%); Originality and Innovation (25%) and; Social Impact (20%).
Moreover, the entry of the University posted on NwSSU’s official page garnered more than 1.3k likes to date as part of the contest requirement to determine the social media engagement of the entries. The gathering of the FB likes for the entries ran from October 15 to 31.
Meanwhile, Samar State University’ Entry 1 and Entry 2 placed 2nd and 3rd places, respectively.
#2020NSMSearchforBestInforgaphics is part of the month-long celebration of National Statistics Month spearheaded by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) and was participated by the different line agencies, Local Government Units (LGUs), and academic institutions from across the country.
