NwSSU signs MOA with SOS, Rotary Club Calbayog
In support for Economic and Community Development Programs, Northwest Samar State University forged a Memorandum of Agreement with Rotary Club of Calbayog and SOS Children's Village Calbayog on September 25, 2020 at the Noisy Room of NwSSU, Main Campus.
Transforming President Vivian Jumagdao, of Rotary Club of Calbayog and Director Emily Torculas of SOS Children's Village, Inc. convened with Dr. Benjamin Pecayo, NwSSU President, to finally establish strong commitment and support for each other's programs and activities.
In the meeting, Rotary Club of Calbayog turned-over Basic Starter Kits to almost 30 beneficiaries as a gesture of its commitment to provide constant support to the graduates of the recently concluded Training on Basic Bread Making which was sponsored by SOS Children's Village Calbayog.
All parties made a concensus to implement the proposed projects at the soonest possible time, with the support of Iceland Government which will finance the project through the SOS Children's Calbayog.
Witnessing the signing of the MOA were Club Secretary Irene Obong (for Rotary Club of Calbayog), Dr. Catherine Rodriguez, Director, Extension Services (for NwSSU) and PAGD Mel Senen Sarmiento, Chairman, Board of Trustees, SOS Children's Village Philippines (for SOS Children's Calbayog). In attendance were also the members of the Rotary Club of Calbayog and NwSSU's Dr. Riz Rupert Ortiz, Vice President for Research, Extension and External Affairs.
